Sabertooth

This was created by using koh-i-noor rapidograph technical drafting pens, for an image that needs to show stark differences between light and dark I find them to work the best. Shading is accomplished by making the line work either thicker or tighter as the light deminishes, or in the case of stippling, the dots become larger or closer together.. Stippling, cross hatch and fine line images can be done using them and I find colorizing an image after the line work is completed works well but the black and white alone is really what makes a pen and ink unique I believe. You will find both in this section of my web site as well as pen and inks done using ball point pens. I find textures and varying the degrees between light and dark easier to convey using the ball point pen especially when doing portraits or fine detailed pictures depicting a motorcycle for example.
